AWARE Kids Nature Club

Published by admin under Monthly Meetings, News and Events

June 28, 2008
10:00 amto11:30 am

Saturday June 28th

10 a.m.
at the Whistler Public Library

with Cara Richard &
Sarah Desrosiers, BC Parks Interpreter

“AWARE Kid’s Games Day!”

First the children played the “Don’t Drop the World Game”. Played with large beach balls in the friendship circle at the park beside the Whistler Public Library. The children were asked to identify the 3 main sources of life; 1) clean air, 2) clean water and 3) food supply, and were eager to tell the group their solutions to protecting our planet earth’s life giving resources.

The children then enjoyed the challenge of testing their bear knowledge in the ‘Little Bryan Bear Trivia Game’, a giant board game using the stepping stones at the nearby park.

As a special treat ‘The Great Strawberry Race’ was played. A relay race where children ran their fastest as they learned about slow foods. Juicy organic strawberries supplied by North Arm Farms in Pemberton were enjoyed by all!
