Join us on Thursday March 8th for AWARE’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is our chance to report back to you on work in 2017, as well as share plans for 2018 and get your feedback on how we are doing. The AGM is also when we ask members to vote for Directors, shaping the Board that will oversee AWARE into the future.
With Whistler’s shared community vision and official community plan currently being revisited we want to dedicate the bulk of our AGM to supporting members, and those who care about the environment, in giving nature a voice in these integral community policies.
Through a series of short talks, and open discussion, we will reflect on what we value about the environment and how we safeguard those values into the future. Topics will range from climate change, to bears, to old forests, to wetlands, to biodiversity, to waste, water and energy, to the ability of the landscape to handle more people, more recreation, more development, etc!
AWARE 2018 Annual General Meeting
Meet The 2018 Board Director Nominees:
The Board of Directors shapes AWARE’s future by setting strategic direction, tracking performance, and continually seeking out ways to create maximum impact with the resources AWARE has available. In 2018 we have 2 Directors stepping back and 5 continuing with their terms. Under AWARE’s bylaws the group can have up to 12 Directors on the Board and all current AWARE members receive a vote on the director nominations at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
