2007 AWARE Snowmobile Inventory
This report documents the findings from a snowmobile inventory conducted by the
Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment (AWARE). The inventory is
based on observational data recorded in Brandywine Meadows in 2007.

Join Cara Richard and the AWARE Kids’ Nature Club for a fun-filled morning of nature games and discussions, for kids aged 6 to 10.

Guest Speakers:
“Winter Wild Animals”
Two Games will be played:
(1) The Web of Life Game
(2) The Predator/Prey Game
(One or both of these games may be played in the snow. Weather permitting) ….so dress warm.
Children will learn the ecology of local wild animals and how they survive in winter. Each child will be face painted as a wild animal to participate in the games! We’ll see who gets to be the Bobcat & who gets to be the Hare! Educational prizes will be donated by the “Wilderness Committee.”
All children must be accompanied by an adult (younger children are welcome with adult supervision).
* We will need help face painting the children to look like winter wild animals! If any parents or caregivers are interested in helping, just let us know when you arrive the day of the event.

Green Drinks is a monthly gathering of anyone interested in “green” topics. The idea is that everyone invites a friend, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network. Chat, debate and socialize with other Whistlerites who are passionate about environmental and sustainability issues. The RMOW’s Community Open House and Town Hall Meeting:
Saturday, January 12, 2008
2:30 to 6 p.m. at Millennium Place
This is your opportunity to learn about Whistler’s role in the Games and progress in Games’ planning, and ask Council your question. The open house features information and displays about the Whistler venues and the athlete village/legacy neighbourhood, as well as a presentation about Games preparations.
The town hall portion of the event runs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Wilhelmsen Hall, where Council will take questions from the audience about the resort community’s role in the Games.
Childminding for children aged two and up will be available for parents attending the event, in the multipurpose room.
If you can’t make the town hall, but have a question, email them to the municipality at info at whistler.ca. It will be read out at the meeting and the answers will be posted to this website.
