Over the past few months, AWARE has been working closely with Whistler Secondary School’s Ecoclub to facilitate our newest program, ProjectNOW. This climate action mentorship program has three core goals: to educate on the impacts of climate change from global to local, to introduce project management basics and to inspire ongoing action and engagement.

Since January, students have been working in teams with mentors from Whistler’s professional environmental field to develop and work through a climate action project of their choosing. Although not all the projects went as planned (something we are all familiar with!), students had the opportunity to act on an issue that they are passionate about and were provided with a realistic glimpse into the many challenges that can arise when implementing projects.

This student showcase will feature presentations from each team and provide our participants with an opportunity to share things they’ve learned with our Whistler community. Please join us in celebrating their efforts.
