Looking for a summer position working on local climate change initiatives? We want you to apply to join our team as a Climate Action Assistant!
The Climate Action Assistant will work to support a variety of climate-related programming intended to accelerate action on local climate change priorities. Working with the AWARE team, you will help to advance local climate actions in line with community policies such as Whistler’s Community Energy and Climate Action Plan (CECAP), especially in relation to transportation and waste reduction.
Board Nominations Are Open
The Board of Directors governs AWARE and its work in the community by providing oversight of AWARE’s strategic and annual work plans. Contributing a diversity of skills and experience, AWARE Directors serve a two‐year term, with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) creating the opportunity for a yearly influx of new directors. AWARE’s Board can consist of up to 12 elected Directors.

Looking for a productive way to pass the time from home? Look no further! The GROW Greenhouse and Garden program is looking for up to 20 volunteers to sort seeds for the greenhouse program from the comfort of your own home.
- We will arrange for a contactless pick-up/drop-off of seeds/supplies
- Bulk seeds will need to be sorted into small envelopes in 1 sq foot quantities (instructions/details will be provided on a seed by seed basis)
- Materials provided by AWARE: seeds, coin envelopes, seed quantity sheet, measuring spoon (for small seeds only)
- Materials provided by you: pen or marker, stapler
