Student Climate Action Mentorship Program

Overview:

This program is a mentorship program created for students in grades 10 & 11 that centers around climate action and engagement. Over 6 sessions, students will be empowered to design and implement a climate related project within their home, school or community by giving them tools and mentorship to  get their ideas off the ground. This session will be delivered virtually to classrooms via live presentations and will be accompanied with printed materials that can be used throughout the sessions.

Students will learn about key concepts of climate change and specifically the changes we can expect to see locally in the Sea to Sky Corridor over the coming years. Students will work in teams or independently on a project of their choosing and work with a mentor to help them turn their ideas into reality. During our sessions we will cover the basics of project management and give students a framework to develop SMART targets and timelines for their chosen projects.
